Between
1978 and 1982 I lived in Germany and had the opportunity to visit
Ramstein Airbase. What I remembered most about the visit was the
welcoming message: "Do not drink and drive" posted on a car that
was badly damaged. A few weeks prior to my visit, there were 6
Americans who were killed in an accident involving this same vehicle.
It has been more than 60 years since George Watson and a group of black pilots and aircraft mechanics known as the Tuskgee Airmen went to war. Read more

The
Tuskegee Airmen have always been special to me as a descendant of
ancestors who were born and raised in Tuskegee, Alabama. Like so
many ancestors who have passed on, the Tuskegee Airmen who ranked at
approximately 900+ in numbers has now dwindled to about 200.
Lt. Col. Herbert Carter is 86 years old and ready for deployment. More than 60 years after his World War II tour with the pioneering Tuskegee Airmen, Carter's new mission will be shorter, though no less courages. Read more

![]() Earlier tonight, me and a family friend, who has a dual major in Psychology and African American Studies, spoke briefly about Ms. Parks and her contributions to the civil-rights movement. I only found out a few minutes ago that Ms. Parks had died. Ms. Parks was a born in Tuskegee, AL and known as the "Mother of the Civil-Rights Movement". Her contributions will be remembered for years to come. Rest in peace, Ms. Parks. Rosa Parks, the Black woman whose 1955 arrest for saying "no" to an order to give her bus seat to white man served a catalyst for the U.S. civil-rights movement today. She was 92.
